FAQ

Why are you running for Idaho State Senate District 6?

I’m running because I believe District 6 deserves practical, steady leadership grounded in real-world experience. My background in business, housing, finance, and community service has shown me how policy decisions affect families, workers, and local economies. I want to bring that perspective to public service.

What experience do you bring to this role?

I spent 24 years as a business owner and real estate professional, managing budgets, coordinating construction projects, overseeing teams, and working through regulatory and local government processes. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and have been actively involved in community service for many years.

What issues are most important to you?

Housing affordability, fiscal stability, agriculture and public lands, education and workforce readiness, infrastructure, and access to healthcare are all critical to District 6. These issues are interconnected, and I approach them with a systems-based mindset focused on long-term stability.

How do you approach housing affordability?

Housing is not a single-issue problem. It involves land use, labor availability, infrastructure, financing, and local context. Having worked directly in housing and construction, I believe solutions must be practical, fiscally responsible, and aligned with the needs of each community.

How do you approach working with people who disagree with you?

I believe progress requires listening, respect, and a willingness to work through differences. My professional background taught me that collaboration and clear communication are essential when solving complex problems, especially when not everyone starts from the same perspective.

Why is health care so crucial to this election?

We are facing a medical emergency in Idaho. We are currently 50th in the nation for doctors per capita, needing nearly 1,700 more physicians just to reach the national average. This shortage is driven by two factors: affordability and autonomy.

How will you attract health care providers to Idaho?

High housing and childcare costs are driving away the next generation of nurses, while restrictive laws are chasing away our specialists. When doctors fear prison for practicing what they were trained to do, they leave. When 35% of a state’s OB/GYNs disappear, families suffer.

How will you stand up for Idaho's providers and patients?

We must stand up for patient rights and ensure that healthcare remains a private matter between a doctor and their patient. It is time to stop the political overreach that is endangering Idahoan lives and depleting our workforce.

How does your business background influence your view of government?

Running a business requires accountability, transparency, and long-term thinking. I believe government should be held to similar standards—managing resources responsibly, prioritizing essential services, and planning beyond short-term cycles.

What role does community service play in your leadership?

Service has always been part of my life, long before I decided to run for office. Volunteering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Idaho Food Bank reinforced my belief that leadership begins with showing up and contributing where help is needed.

How will you represent District 6 in Boise?

By staying connected to the district, listening to constituents, and approaching decisions with care and responsibility. Representation means understanding local realities and ensuring they are reflected in statewide discussions.
